It is no news that packaging is to ensure the recognition of a product and appeal to the buyer. That explains why global brands on the consumer market place a high value in the consistent appearance of their product families. The brand should be seen the same, no matter in which store shelf world-wide. Since late last year the re-launch of the Nestlé brands KIT KAT and SMARTIES has been in the supermarkets. The products’ quality demand was not only stressed through the refurbishing of the SMARTIES logo or the change in design of the KIT KAT packaging. The conscious decision for one supplier was also a crucial factor for the pursuit of a harmonized logo. Being a Nestlé partner for many years Janoschka was entrusted with the complete production of rotogravure printing forms, artwork and reproduction. Which is quite deliberate, because both brands were already ran and cared for mainly by Janoschka. The ensured continuous process reduces the interfaces within the supply chain to a necessary minimum, and thus provides for packaging development and implementation of significant time and cost savings. The area of flexible packaging had been exclusively committed to rotogravure printing on quality reasons, and the deliberate use of the Direct Laser technology (DLS). The superiority of sequencing technologies and the perfect vignette reproduction reflect the products’ high quality also in its packaging. The re-launch included the entire portion of flexible packaging of both portfolios (primary packaging for KIT KAT and multi-packs and mini bags of both brands).
